Some have websites but most do not and for the most part, spend very little on advertising. This list is not meant to grade in numerical order which mediator is the best. This list is meant to inform the client who may have a mediation set with one of these mediators as to the process and procedures that this mediator uses to conduct the conference. Your lawyer may not be experienced or may have not updated you prior to start of the mediation what to expect, as a result, I have post this blog for information purposes to give you some biographical information on the mediator and the logistics used by that mediators for your mediation.

Jane is short but gets to the point very quickly. She books up fast and meditates 2 to 3 cases per day. She has settled over 6,000 cases. She has a building behind the Cadillac Bar. If you have a truck, park on the street. She has some parking for compact and mid size cars. She typically mediates downstairs. When you mediate at night, she will buy the parties dinner. My office has mediated about 80 times with Jane.

Judge Shelton was the former associate judge in the 311th and also 312th Family Courts of Harris County. She served under Doug Warne and also David Farr. She was a hard ass when it came to procedure. She is seldom late and always ready. I do not believe she maintains an office and she relies primarily on referrals. She retired from the bench sometime in 2012. She started mediations right away. Judge Shelton files up fast. You would have to book your mediation about a month out. She will come to your office and I think she also does mediations out of the Greenway Mediation Center in Houston on Mercer Road. Judge Shelton is respected and trusted.

Brad primarily mediates these days. He will stay with you all day and go back and forth to attempt to get you to settle. He is always booked up, thus you will need to look at a month out to set your mediation with him. I think Brad grew up in South America, as his Spanish is excellent with no accent. For your more difficult Latin cases, Brad is the mediator for the job. With both a Board Certification, and Former Judge, he will get your client where he needs to be as to the likely outcome of trial.

My offices uses Myrna for quite a few of our Spanish clients. She is another “hard ass’. But pointed and a closer. The first time I mediated with her did not go well. I think I surprised her by going back. She is a closer and hard working attorney. Good lawyer who appears almost daily in court and knows how the judge will rule. About $400 per party
